About the role
You'll need to have a passion for building highly performant, functional and accessible interfaces. You'll be working closely with our engineering team and our client's engineering team. You will be reporting to a Technical Director who works across the various teams. Typical activities in your week may include:
- Choosing technology components for a given task
- Working with the Product Designer to implement a comprehensive design system and component library, perhaps using something like Storybook or Fractal.
- Working with your team to define a seamless build and deployment process.
- Building and testing highly performant and thoroughly tested components.
- Defining the performance and accessibility requirements
About you
- You'll have 5+ years of experience working in front-end. We're looking for someone who can make well-considered decisions on front-end strategy, and write the code.
- You'll be happy writing high-quality front-end code. With a strong applied knowledge of HTML and CSS/SCSS. Understanding design patterns is important and you won't mind writing unit tests.
- You’ve maintained and built projects using modern frameworks. We're looking for someone with a solid foundation in the fundamentals but can also pick the right tool for the job.
- You'll have a history of working with designers to implement high-quality interfaces. We'd like you to have an appreciation of why amazing UX is fundamental to great products and build your front-end with that in mind.
- You'll have a passion for performance and accessibility. We want our products to be usable by as many people as possible, which means being passionate about building fast, functional and highly accessible products. A plus if you have experience of GDPR and accessibility standards.
